On the strength of favourable global signals, the domestic stocks barometers traded with small advances in the early session. Banks, financial services and auto shares showed buying interest while realty, healthcare and pharma sectors saw a touch of selling pressure.
At 11:00 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, is trading with minor gains of 180 points and is presently trading at 62,310 levels. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap also has gained marginally by 42 points to a level of 26,215. The Small-Cap index also appreciated 123 points, trading at 29,789 levels.
The Nifty 50 index is now trading at 18,528 levels, up 31 points. The Bank Nifty also jumped 191 points and is trading at a level of 43,899.
On December 12, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) showed out to be net buys of shares worth Rs 695.60 crores while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) turned out to be net sellers of shares worth 138.81 crores.
