At 11:05 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, lost 289 points and is now trading at a level of 62,544. In keeping with the general market loss, S&P BSE Mid-Cap also witnessed a little dip, falling 110 points to a level of 26,238. The Small-Cap index dropped by 58 points, trading at 29,927 levels at the moment.

The Nifty 50 index is currently trading at 18,613 levels, down 87 points. The Bank Nifty also had a little decline, dropping 152 points to close at 43,178.

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 1,139.07 crore and domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 2,607.98 crore, respectively, on December 5.
