As previously revealed in a trailer, the final episode of Attack on Titan will be televised in two parts. The first half’s debut is scheduled for March 3. The follow-up will be released in 2023. The series is animated by MAPPA.
The manga series by Hajime Isayama that served as the inspiration for Attack on Titan was serialised in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine from 2009 to 2021. After 139 chapters, which were collected into 34 volumes, the manga came to a conclusion in April of 2021. In June 2021, the 34th and last volume was published. WIT Studio produced an anime version of the manga in 2013. The second season debuted in 2017, and was followed by the third season, which had two courses. While the second course premiered in April 2019, the first one aired in the summer of 2018. For the fourth season, Studio MAPPA took over the brand under the name Attack on Titan Final Season. It has 16 episodes in all and debuted in December of 2020. Part 2 was announced following the conclusion of its broadcast in March 2021. Episode 76 of Attack on Titan: Final Season Part 2 debuted in January of this year.
Both episodes of Final Season were directed by Yuichiro Hayashi, with series composition and scripting handled by Hiroshi Seko. The story’s composition was attributed to Shintaro Kawakubo, Attack on Titan’s editor at Kodansha. In a recent interview, Yuichiro Hayashi joined CGI producer and layout designer Yuusuke Tannawa to discuss the creation of the anime adaptation. Hayashi emphasised Hajime Isayama’s involvement and how he provides perspective and checks storyboards.
