Market giants like Tesla and Apple reported significant losses, which contributed to the closing losses for Wall Street indices on Wednesday night. Today’s Asian markets saw mixed investor sentiment. As a result, the main Indian indexes started the day down. The sectoral indexes were all trading in negative territory. BSE Metals had a 2%+ decrease. Stocks in the real estate, technology, and power industries all suffered large losses. But equities in the banking and healthcare industries were least impacted.

The BSE Sensex dropped by 0.67 percent to a level of 60,886 at 11.20 am on Wednesday. The Nifty-50 index decreased 0.67% to 18,110. The top three gainers on the Sensex were UltraTech Cement Company, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, and Axis Bank. Tata Steel, IndusInd Bank, and Tata Motors had the greatest declines.

1,178 scrips advanced and 2,112 scrips declined on the BSE, maintaining a significant advance-decline ratio in favour of the decline. Despite a sluggish market, Aarti Surfactants, the top smallcap gainer on the BSE, increased by more than 6%.

A disappointing demand estimate caused yesterday’s steep drop in oil prices. While in early trading today, the rupee appreciated versus the US dollar.
